Why Prosper Street keyboards? Because products everywhere tell us people are interested in comfort, and typing should be more comfortable. Look at the new toothbrushes on the market. They aren't flat anymore and they aren't cheap. What they are is cool looking, easy to use and comfortable to hold. The handles are round to fit a human hand; even the bristles have been redesigned to accommodate the shape of our teeth. Pens too have undergone a major changeover; they are easier to use because they have soft round grips that are comfortable to hold. New cooking utensils have similar grips for the same reasons. These product transformations are driven by comfort, design and usability. At Prosper Street we think these same considerations apply to keyboards.

But we aren't inventing a new keyboard; we are reinventing the old standard by incorporating keycaps with differing heights, angles and shapes to provide a more comfortable alternative to every other keyboard on the market. They say old standards die hard, but they do die. Try to find a pair of golf shoes with metal spikes; soft spikes are everywhere. Why? They are more comfortable. And they work just as well. Look at shoes today generally. Rubber or composite soles, rounded toes, and softer materials mean increased comfort. Shoes are now being designed for human feet. With Prosper Street keycaps, a keyboard is comfortable and user-friendly- designed for a human hand.

Other "comfortable" keyboards, whether flat, split or curved, still require the typist's hands, with fingers of varying lengths, to utilize a flat set of keycaps. That's not very comfortable. And if you think about it, it doesn't make much sense. Unless all your fingers are the same length. Ours aren't and that's why our keycaps aren't flat.
